DESCRIPTION:The goal of this workshop is to bring together the community o
f physicists and mathematicians interested in the intriguing relationships
that have been noticed between the structure of the standard model of par
ticle physics\, and exceptional structures in mathematics. The goal is to
bring together theoretical particle physicists who want to understand the
origin of the particular symmetries and patterns in the standard model\, w
ith mathematicians expert in the exceptional algebraic and geometric struc
tures that seem to be relevant\, including the exceptional Jordan algebra
(and related Jordan structures)\, the exceptional Lie groups\, the so-call
ed magic square\, and exceptional systems of quantum logic. The goal is\,
on the physics side\, to get a deeper understanding of the relevant mathem
atics\, and on the mathematics side to learn about the questions and conje
ctures of most interest and relevance to physics.\nAll participants in HCT
P activities are expected to show respect and courtesy to others throughou
t the duration of an event\, including at social events. We draw the parti
cipants’ attention to the HCTP Code of Conduct\n\nTravel Scam! \nIf you
received emails from travellerpoint(dot)org (or another travel company)\,
please be careful. The email asks about arrival and departure dates to Edi
