DESCRIPTION:This event is for participants in the MSCA Doctoral Network CA
 FE-BIO which aims to develop a Coherent Analysis Framework for Emergence i
 n Biological Systems. It is open to the Doctoral Candidates\, their superv
 isors and co-supervisors and the network's Non-Academic Partners.\nDuring 
 this meeting we will provide a brief overview of the general structure and
  operation of the network\, devoting the majority of the time to building 
 collaborations within the network's three main thematic areas:\n\nNovel ph
 ysical interactions in biological systems\nFrom microscopic interaction
 s to macroscopic collective effects\nData-driven modelling and experime
 ntal applications\n\nMajor research challenges will be presented in each 
 of these areas\, and participants working within them will identify an ope
 n research question that cuts across the individual projects that the Doct
 oral Candidates will individually work on.\nDoctoral Candidates should eac
 h come prepared to speak for no more than five minutes with no more than t
 wo slides on the understanding they have of their individual research proj
 ect - please discuss with your supervisor to the extent necessary to achie
 ve this.\nDuring the meeting there will be additional workshops on practic
 al implementation of a research project\, including model building and ana
 lysis\, as well as responsible practices in data handling and presentation
  of results.\nThe meeting will culminate with a half-day at Dynamic Earth\
 , a science centre located in central Edinburgh\, to introduce the Public 
 Engagement  strand of the network to participants.\nAhead of the formal m

  7pm on Sunday 27th September at the Cambridge Bar\, 20 Young St\, Edinbu
