Venue information

The Conference

The conference will take place at the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute (ECCI);

The ECCI is located at High School Yards, Infirmary Street, Edinburgh EH1 1LZ (View on map). All plenary sessions will be held in conference room G.04.

Please use the interactive University of Edinburgh campus maps for help locating the venue.  Once in Edinburgh, Google Maps is a reliable way of navigating in the city.

Please follow this link for how to get there via air/rail/bus. You are strongly encouraged to use public transportation, as the central area is extremely busy.

  • Arriving from the Edinburgh airport:
    • There is frequent bus and tram service to the city centre and both options take about 30 minutes to reach the city centre.
    • The tram runs until about 11 P.M and costs £7.50 per ride.
    • Busses, such as Airlink 100, run 24 hours and cost £5 per ride.
    • Taxis cost about £30, depending on time of day.
  • Arriving by rail:
    • The main rail station, Edinburgh Waverley, is about 15-20 minutes walk to the University of Edinburgh central area.

Getting Around the City

  • Lothian Bus - The Lothian Bus serves the central area of Edinburgh. Look up routes and plan your journey via their webpage or their mobile applications. It costs £2 per ride, and contactless payment is encouraged. (Drivers will accept cash, but no change will be given.)
  • Black Cabs - There is an extensive fleet of black cabs in the city that can be hailed or booked for service. We recommend Central Taxis or City Cabs
  • Uber - Uber is the most popular mobile ride-hailing service in the Edinburgh area.  Be aware of surge prices during popular times of the day.

The Conference Dinner

The conference dinner will take place at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and held in the Caledonian Hall. The Caledonian Hall is a short walk from the East Gate on Inverleith Row and then a further five minutes walk to the hall.

The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is located at 20a Inverleith Row, Edinburgh, EH3 5LP (View on map).

Wheelchairs and mobility scooters are available and can be booked for guests free of charge.
