Description

Moments of parton distribution functions encode fundamental information
about the internal quark and gluon structure of hadrons. Their direct lattice-QCD determination with standard local operators is, however, limited by renormalization and mixing problems, especially for higher moments. I will discuss a strategy based on local twist-two operators defined at positive gradient-flow time. These flowed operators are finite at nonzero flow time, allowing the continuum limit to be taken at fixed physical flow time before matching to physical PDF moments through a short-flow-time expansion.

I will present the flowed-local-operator framework and its first numerical applications to pion PDF moments. These results demonstrate the viability of the method and its potential to access higher moments that are difficult to obtain with traditional local-operator techniques. I will then discuss how statistical and systematic uncertainties, including those associated with the continuum and small-flow-time extrapolations, are assessed in the final determination.
