Accommodation

Warning about Scams: If you received emails from travellerpoint(dot)org, please be careful. The email asks about arrival and departure dates to Edinburgh and offers a hotel booking form where they ask for credit card details.

Please, ignore the emails and do not reply nor click on any link given by them. You can also block the domain on your email client.

Our official emails are all from this website’s domain “@ed.ac.uk” (usually, sopa.events@ed.ac.uk). Please avoid giving private information to external sources. The only official way to register for our workshops are advertised via our website or this indico and we will get in touch directly if we book accommodation for you.

Please note that Edinburgh is very busy at the time of the workshop. Please make sure to book accommodation well ahead of time.

A list of suggested accommodations can be found on the webpage of the Higgs Centre https://higgs.ph.ed.ac.uk/visitors/accommodation  .

Note that the B&B's as well as the University accommodation listed on the above webpage may be booked out for the time of the workshop. Please try the hotels listed here, or use your favourite webpage for finding travel/hotel booking to look for accommodation.

Note, even though listed on the accommodation suggestions by the Higgs Centre, we strongly advise not to book via Airbnb as there is no guarantee that accommodation is reasonable and one may not obtain receipts/bills that are suitable for expenses claims.
