The 2023 International Workshop on Circular Electron Positron Collider (European Edition)
University of Edinburgh George Square Central Area
The 2023 international workshop on the Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) will take place at the University of Edinburgh between 3-6 July.
The workshop intends to gather scientists around the world to study the physics potentials of the CEPC, pursue international collaborations for accelerator and detector optimisation, deepen R&D work of critical technologies, and develop initial plans towards Technical Design Reports (TDR). The high energy Super proton-proton Collider (SppC), a possible upgrade of the CEPC, will also be discussed.
The workshop program consists of plenary sessions and parallel sessions. The workshop encourages participation from early career scientists, especially from post-graduate students and postdocs.
This event will be run in hybrid mode with the following zoom links:
Plenary: Zoom-Plenary (Passcode: nYE11fb0)
Parallel – Physics:Zoom-Physics (Passcode: za5eL00M)
Parallel – Detector: Zoom-Detector (Passcode: mb6nuQi6)
Parallel – Accelerator: Zoom-Accelerator (Passcode: v7ytcu1W)
This event is hosted by the University of Edinburgh and organised by a UK organising committee from the following institutes, with considerable support from Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Production of a 95~GeV scalar in association with a $Z$-boson at e+e- colliders
The Circular Electron-Positron Collider (CEPC) is expected to operate at center-of-mass energies of 240–250 GeV to produce the Standard Model Higgs boson and make precise measurements. This will also allow for the production of additional lighter scalars. Following the excesses seen at the LHC around $m_S \approx 95$ GeV, we explore the feasibility of a singlet scalar $S$ in a 2HDM+$S$ parameter space {\it via} $e^+e^- \to ZS$ using missing-mass measurement technique, where $Z$-boson decays to either of muon or electron pairs. A study of the parameter space allowed by the LHC data will be detailed. A multi-variate analysis will be shown using machine learning methods, in addition with effects of polarized $e^\pm$ beams.

Searching for Low-Mass Resonances at the LHC
In light of the hints for a new scalar at the LHC at 95 GeV, I present an analysis of low-mass WW searches. In particular, a scalar SU(2) triplet is a possible candidate. In this case, one predicts a charged Higgs boson, nearly degenerate in mass, whose properties could be studied with high precision at a future e+e- collider like CEPC.
Speaker: Guglielmo Coloretti (University of Zurich (UZH)) -

Light Higgs bosons at the CEPC
We discuss the phenomenology of light Higgs bosons at the CEPC. We focus on a Higgs boson at $\sim 95$ GeV, as suggested by recent ATLAS and CMS searches. Such a scenario can be tested in two ways at CEPC: 1) via precision measurements of the $h_{125}$; 2) via direct production of the $h_{95}$. We demonstrate that these measurements are crucial to determine the characteristics of the BSM Higgs sector.
